Triveni Sangam, London was established in 1996 to teach Yoga, Pranayama and Meditation to local community to help them improve their health. Triveni Sangam is a non-profit making organisation. After paying the rent and administration costs all the profit made goes to the charities.
Projects under the banner of Triveni Sangam anywhere in the world use the same Logo, Ethos and Principles. Everyone connected with Triveni Sangam should understand that the Head of the Mission is Shri Lord Krishna and follow the principles of the organisation.
Triveni means three and Sangam means unite, join, connect. Wherever three things unite, whether it is the union of body, mind and soul; thoughts, actions and speech; or the union of knowledge, action(Karma) and devotion; or morals, manner and conduct; or the union of truth, love and compassion, it makes us want to get up and do something for the people who are less fortunate than us. If we act bearing this in mind then we are on the right path of spirituality, of knowing our true identity.
When we buy a television, a fridge a mobile etc., we receive an operating manual with it but when a human being is born he is born without a manual. Shri Krishna teaches us how to lead our lives through His song, Shrimad Bhagvad Gita.
Yog means to unite – so whatever I do, I do with full presence of body, mind (awareness) and faith, whether it is paid work or voluntary work. True service should be done without any desires or expectations (Nishkam karma).
